awesome day at the track today... the weather was hot and humid... qualifyiers ran for SV-Cup, 600Am, 600Pro, SBK... the grid is set.

Local man, Clint McBain has pole for 600 and SBK... he looks set to win Superbike, although I think Jordan Szoke may have something in it even though McBain killed them in qualifying.

more news here:
http://www.cdnsuperbike.com/

Chris Peris had not ridden his Canadian spec R1 superbike until arriving at the track after the World Supersport adventure in Misano which messed up there test schedule... he only got 15 or 20 laps on it due to zipping in and out of the pits to set the thing up, and he had a goofy off-track incident because although the circuit is dry, he made a mistake and went off-track and it's brutal right now due to all the recent rain we've had... swooosh and he was off, but rode back in. They had a few other glitches to sort through. They may update there web-site sometime: www.peris.ca

On the 600 Chris qualified 6th, and should be a factor in the races Saturday and Sunday.

It was surprising that Picotte did so poorly. He's was dogging it lots during the qualifier, waiting for clear track or someone to hook up with and pull him on a better lap... dunno... he didn't do well. And in the 600 qualifier he punted into one of our rookie pros... it was kindof wierd... not in keeping with Picotte's usual style and torrid pace.

Trombino pitched it big-time coming out onto the front straight... my buddies filled me in on that bit i missed... but i've always voted him most likely guy to throw it away there.. he always rides on the ragged edge up on the curbing. the bike is pooched, but he's ok apparently.

anyway... time for bed and then off to the races tomorrow and sunday... and i think the stunt guys will be doing a show at noon... i saw them practicing at the end of the day before leaving the track.
