Moto Guzi

Can anyone tell me what they think of the Moto Guzi Brava 750.
It seems that there are not many dealers in the US especially not in the Mid West. I like the size, look and mechanics of the bike. But is it considered reliable. I may do a lot of riding with this bike. I'm also considering the BMW F 800 ST. But the price and look does not compare with the Brava 750. Any thoughts?

I ride a Nevada 750 which is almost the same as the Breva but for the styling. I like it more and more the longer I spend with it. The small block Guzzis are real easy to use, low maintenance, and a lot of fun at legal speeds. I have had some issues with mine but, knock on wood, they have all been worked out. WHen things did go wrong, Guzzi provides free roadside service for 2 years which was awesome.

I commuted on mine 2/3s of the time last school year (I teach) and it held up well.

I've sat on a couple of Breva 750's and frankly I would rather be riding a Breva then the NEvada b/c it is just a little sportier ergo-wise and is probably comfier on the freeway due to the more forward lean. Don't take that to mean the Breva is a sport bike, the Breva is set up to be comfy and 48 hp does not a sportbike make.

Guzzi's are distinctive, sound great, are low maintenance, and just drip with elegant simplicity. If you've got the cash, go with the Griso though. The black Griso is simply one of the most beautiful objects ever crafted by man.

Edit: Oh and its spelled "G-U-Z-Z-I" and pronounced "goot-see"

I agree! I think out of the current production twins, it is arguably the best sounding of all, even better than Ducati. The Sport 1100 from the mid 90s were some of the most beautiful motorcycles ever produced.

I really like the way the 2V Moto Guzzis sound. They sound as good as a Norton twin IMO. Not as great sounding as a race tuned Manx but probably no motorcycle does.

Last year, I was severely tempted between a used Breva 750 and a used BMW F650CS. I eventually bought the Beemer for various reasons; mainly handling and ABS.

But there's something about a Goose, isn't there? It really tugs at your heart. I often wonder if it would have been a slightly slower, but much more soulful experience with the Breva.

Guzzi's shake side to side, make all sorts of noises from their pushrods and dry clutches, turn left slightly differently than they turn right, and generally are "soulfull" and "have character."

If a Guzzi excites you and you can afford it, buy it. Don't compromise in your choice of bike or wife, or you'll just be looking forward to trading it in.

If you appreciate beautiful design, uniqueness, and simplicity no other brand will satisfy like Guzzi. Also Guzzi is the only brand other than BMW focused exlusively on making vehicles and not toys.
