LADIES: Help with finding gear for a noob

So, after much measuring, cussing, looking, debating, guessing-I decided to go to a few local shops to try jackets on. And then a friend showed up at my house with this jacket:

It's the men's hydration jacket. I'm not necessarily an HD fangirl, but the jacket 1) fits me perfectly and 2) actually does cool very well and 3) does have places for body armor and has elbow protectors and shoulder protectors and 4) it was on sale at the local dealership

It also fits the BF very well, so as I get smaller, he can use the jacket as well. I ended up getting a 2xl for anyone wondering about sizing.

I think I did well. I didn't want black, but everything else that I thought would fit me was black as well. And we have a roll of DOT reflective tape around here somewhere that I could do something with....

Nice looking jacket. The good thing about black....it doesn't show the dirt,
My first jacket was yellow with black....I was always having to wash that jacket because the yellow showed the dirt very fast.
I bet you will really enjoy your jacket.
PS....keep it away from your bf. Once he gets his hands on it, you may not get it back.

I'm not nearly as worried about losing the jacket to him as I am the bike He already tried to claim my Jeep by modding it-that didn't work out so well for him. [/quote]

For the MSF course and beyond, have water available and drink every time you take a break. Speak up if you need to take a break during the class.

I totally agree! Don't let yourself get exhausted from the heat. Take breaks and drink LOTS of water. It's the same as when out riding in the hot weather - it's impossible to stay focused when overheated and thirsty.

Glad to hear all the posts about gear are helping you out! Companies are getting much better about producing ladies gear, but they still don't put out realistic sizes. I am sure you will find something after seeing all the responses here.
