I have a 1993 Seca II (aka xj600) as my first bike, so far (only 3 mos/400 miles) I love it . In this particular case I'd be worried that it only has 3500 miles on it. If a Seca II sits for too long (a few months) the carbs clog up and nothing but disassembling them to clean them out is going to help you. Here that runs ~$500. Find out if it sat and for how long. If this guy let it sit, run away. If it was the guy before find out for how long and what he's done in terms of maintenance since (gas tank & carbs are the most expensive ones). Bring a bright flashlight to look in the tank, see if it's rusted or recoated.

In California you can go to the DMV to find out if it's stolen, not sure how it goes in Seattle. Get the VIN and call around. I will say here getting it registered has been a real pain because the title is screwy (different state, not signed off properly according to CA law) and I'm going to have to use a bill of sale...two months and still hacking at it.

If you have any Seca specific questions, PM me. :)

Edited to say that you should check the VIN on the sticker on the subframe (that white label in the picture, where the fairing should be, near the tank on the bottom right picture) against the one on the motor (stamped into the metal on the same side). Check it out while you're looking at the oil level (sight glass is at the bottom of the motor on the same side). They won't be exactly the same but about half the numbers should match up if they're from the same bike.[/i]
