how do I store my gear on a sportbike

My sportbike is my only transportation for the summer and I'm struggling with how to keep my gear safely stored when I go some where. For example I'm going to a concert this weekend where I'll be wearing nice clothing and I don't want to skip the overpants or the mc boots, but where do I store them while I'm at the concert? While I'm out hiking? At work or school it's easy, but for these two events I'm at a loss.

A few weeks ago I saw a bike with a plastic covered wire like I used to use to lock up my bicycle looped through the legs of some overpants and the arms of their jacket. Any other suggestions out there? (I don't have any saddlebags and even if I did they wouldn't be hardsided)

You can have the chain like you saw, but I've also seen wire nets, usually sold for travelers and such.
These seem to work pretty well too, plus will lock to whatever you want on your Seca.

I seem to remember my instructors wife had hard bags on her seca II. Maybe a search through bike bandit or something similar would turn something up.

A large tank bag can store a pretty good amount of stuff too.

Thanks, I'm looking into soft shell ones, (not into the hard shell version) but they won't be purchased for another few months when I can find some that fit my bike & budget.

I have saddlebags on my bike, but I once rode home with an x-box 360 wrapped around my passenger backrest. Another time I rode home from the grocery store with a cake in my lap.

That is the 64,000 dollar question mate

One that has been a pain in the arse for riders of many decades.


How do you look good, keep ya bike looking good, and use all the right safety gear everytime you go out.............there is no real answer, other than to say do the best you can....I will compromise my safety when these situations happen, but I do not recommend any one to do that.

That reminds me of an older gentleman who rides around our town on a Hayabusa with hard bags on it. He always seems to be riding very safely, and wearing all of the right gear, but it always makes me do a double-take. Just not used to seeing that.

Had a chance to test out a few options and thought I'd report back.

Borrowed one of those nifty nets Wrider suggested from a friend. I like this idea for bulkier items I don't want to stuff like picking up a suit from the dry cleaners. If I already had one I might go with it but for the cost I think I'll look into saddlebags instead.

The chain through the triple clamps works really well it allowed my gear to air out while I was swimming esp. important in the middle of a heat wave made the ride home less, fragrant.

Fireguzzi, thanks for the feedback, so far most of the used saddlebags in my price range are waaaay too big for my bike, nice to know I just need to keep looking or get a better job to buy new.
