Hello All,
I'm new to the site.
Bought my first bike 4 weeks ago. I have been reading and practicing for 2 weeks. I made a dumb mistake. Where is the battery located on a 01 Susuki VS 800. I did not position the key correctly when I parked. The lights were left on all night. First and probable won't be the last newbie mistake.
Can any one assist me. I purchased a charger to charge the battery.

I've got a 2004 suz VL 800. The battery is probably under the seat. It's an easy place to check if it isn't.molee935 wrote:Hello All,

My 2006 has it placed in a battery box under the chasis. I did the same thing today as well. Left the key on. Must have been a case of forgetfullness running around like the flu!
I picked up a conditioner for mine and installed it. Makes it nice for keeping the battery up over the winter and for silly mistakes like today. Just got a jump start downtown then rode it home and plugged the pigtail in.
FYI, if you need to jumpstart the 2006'ish S50, there's a cap over the positive terminal that can be removed with a phillips head screwdriver so that you can access the terminal bolt. We just attached the (+) to a screwdriver and touched it to the bolt and attached the ground. Not sure how safe it really is but, it fired right up. It beat the alternative of unbolting the battery box, dropping the battery onto the ground, jumping it, keep it running, put the battery back up into the box and rebolting it without getting burned by the exhaust directly above your arm.
