Welcome!

I've been on the road for 20 ++ years.

My daughter is a newbie too. Took her on her "initiation ride" yesterday.
She is riding a Yamaha Vino. (modified so it will go 45 mph)

As to your question, any of the newer scooters are great for beginners. Also, any of the Honda twinstar series, any older 200-250cc bikes, even some of the smaller dual purpose bikes provided you can reach the ground comfortably.
Try not to spend too much, but DON'T BUY JUNK!

Ask a lot of questions here, the only stupid questions are ones you don't ask.

Have fun, be safe, PAY ATTENTION.

:welcome: to TMW!

Always good to see new interest in our sport. I think most of your questions about what bike to get can be answered in this thread: http://totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/viewtopi ... 00&start=0

Good luck on the search, and the smartest thing you can do is get enrolled in the MSF Basic Rider course. Keep posting and let us know what you end up getting!
