with the price of gas where it is, i would have expected some type of campaign from at least one motorcycle manufacturer touting the gas mileage and savings you can get from a motorcycle. perhaps it's where I live (North Caorlina) that i am not seeing any? i mean, for a lot less than a car, you can get reliable transportation with great mileage. you'd think they would try to capitalize on it. maybe they could even throw in the cost of a safety course as an incentive or something...

They are marketing their scooters for that.

I think blues is right. There is a scooter store that opened up in Brooklyn or someplace in NY I forget where and they sold like half their inventory in the first month.

The Yamaha dealer has a whole new line of scooters and a couple of them are suitable for highway riding.

i had to laugh when i saw the local Triumph dealer touting high gas mileage with a picture of a Rocket III.

:laughing:


sure, it gets better gas mileage than a lot of cars, but something tells me that 2000cc engine isn't a gas sipper... :mrgreen:
