riding isn't for everyone....maybe its not for you.

Im not saying that to be mean, although i can be mean :) im not doing it now.

Whats the point in pushing something your not ready for..especially when that something could get you really really hurt or worse.

So... did you use neutral for 11-19 mph?
Haha whoops :)
If you really stomp on the throttle you glide through 11-18 mph? hehe

well just b/c I have a few questions being a noob and all doesn't mean riding isn't for me  It all makes sense now, I went out and tried it today and had smooth riding. If I pull the throttle a little when I downshift it helps as well. so thank you thank you thank you!

Ninja250grl wrote:thanks brackstone:) and everyone else, I agree I should have been paying more attention. Now that I keep thinking back and having flash backs I remember my handlebars wobbling and I panicked and pulled on the front break which I know you're not supposed to do.
Excellent. Glad to hear it. That's exactly what you need to do. Pay attention. Think about it. Reflect upon it. Great way to learn. Keep it up.
[b]Are you a beginner rider?
Have a lot of questions about motorcycling?
Not sure what bike to start with?

Remember not to brake thru the turn...do your slowing down before you get to the turn, then try to slowy acclerate through the turn. You have more control this way.

Honestly my butt still puckers a little bit each time I start into a good curve or higher speed turn... I worry my tires will lose their grip and Ill go down..

...but with practice it wont terrify you but just be one of those little things thats makes riding fun for you.
Find a big vacant lot with good concrete and no rocks leaves or gravel to practice in. Thats a good surface for tires to grip and knowing you have a good surface will help boost your confidence.

Now you see why everyone around recommends getting a used bike to start on. With a used bike you dont have that fear of srewing up your brand new baby nagging at you in the back of your mind...which can also erode your confidence or make you indecisive at a time when you need to be very decisive, very quickly.

One more thing, get something like these:

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/ ... uards.aspx

I use these under loose fitting jeans and they are not even noticable. They protect me a bit from a fall and keep the rash off my knees. I've been meaning to get some of those relaxed fit Draggin Jeans to wear over them...that way Id be protected from the fall and frome the slide. Leather is optimal for the slide but not an option in the Texas summer heat.

Good luck to you and keep practicing. With practice, your confidence will grow and with more confidence, your fears will fade. ...Just dont get too confident...lol...that opens up a whole new can of worms...
