I'm official now

#1 Unread post by JungleJim »

I bought the bike, an '06 Suzuki M50, two weeks ago. I spent some time practicing with the clutch, shifting and brakes in the driveway and in front of the house. Took the class this past Tues/ Wed and passed the tests without any real problems. The class was run very well and I picked up a lot of good tips, well worth the time and gallons of sweat. Took a trip to DMV and picked up the license on Friday. I haven't been out too far but have really enjoyed riding it around. Even took the wife out a couple of times. I did have one %*@* blow a stop sign in my community already, fortunately I was going slow enough to avoid him. I look forward to learning more and gaining more experience.

Safe riding

:biker: Congratulations! :biker:

If you get any chances to practice some of what you learned in an empty parking lot it will do worlds of good for you. I had about a 2 year gap between when I passed my test and when I actually got a bike. Needless to say, I was a little rusty. Practicing will keep you on your toes ;).

Thanks, I'm glad I did it......and didn't dump the bike.

They had a Tues/ Wed class 10 hrs each day or a Thurs night- Sat/ Sun class, either way it totaled 20 hours. Doing the Tues- Weds seemed like the better option. Tues We rode from 7- noon took a lunch then met at the class. Same thing on Wed but we finished the morning with the road test and met in the class for the written portion.

Scored a 94 on the riding and 100 on the written.

One nice thing, my house is on the way to the class from the road course so I stopped in showered and changed on my way to class. It was really hot and humid so the shower and dry clothes were refreshing.
