Large Foot-ed Friends

#1 Unread post by JonesRock »

Hey everyone,
I'm both new to forum, and motorcycling. I take my Motorcycle Safety Course the last weekend of September and will start seriously hunting for a good starter bike at that time....just in time for winter! :)

On to my issue though. I wear a size 15 in both shoes and boots. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any brands that make motorcycle boots/shoes in that size. I've been able to find 14's, but that's as high as I've seen them. Stores usually don't carry my size, so I'm very used/comfortable with ordering online. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Thanks!

If you already have a pair of work boots or hiking boots that covers the ankle, go with them...

I don't currently. I'll probably just end up getting some work or hiking boots, but was curious if anyone knew of any true cycling boots/shoes that come in larger sizes.

These guys advertise some motorcycle boots up to size 15

http://www.cruiserworks.com/products.cfm

Depends what kind of motorcycle boots you want. Try googling "motorcyle boots" size 15

You might have to hunt around a bit but there seems to be a number of companies out there that produce motorcycle boots in your size.

Personally I've got size 14 feet, but just use my work boots. Steel toe, steel shank. I know the shank saved my foot one time, foot got caught as I went to take a right, went under the pipes, lifted the entire bike off of the ground, bent the steel shank a little bit but my foot was ok!
So yeah, I recommend leather work boots, but I'm sure bike specific boots are nicer when you're scraping toe with them!
