its a joke, crazy people don't have enough money to buy a 999 or a Hayabusa. If he is serious, then he is insane, thus not able to afford a brand new Busa or 999 in the spring. So it is obviously a joke

There you have it, Murpheus, you'll never be as great as these guys and you can take your years and years of dirt-bike experience and stick 'em up your tail pipe. Obviously you don't realize that you WILL, not may, but WILL die within the first 100' on either bike.

Just making light...You see, someone with that much experience, who IS going to buy one of THOSE TWO bikes, can easily research the requested information at the dealerships. They will gladly refer him to some happy owners, just like car dealers will. Since the likelyhood of getting much first-hand info on those two models is so unlikely on this website, in the beginners forum, we're trying to keep it light and not personal with the guy who just joined today and immediately asked the question everybody loves. Perhaps we have strayed...sorry.
Ride safe...God bless!

maybe people are taking responsibility for any sort of advice given here and will make sure safety and sensibility come before politeness. maybe they care enough for morpheus or any newbie that he is being dissuaded as much as possible. is it that people can't even bring themselves to say something like ....hmmm, maybe a hayabusa(for instance) is a better choice, considering he is new to street biking.swatter555 wrote:Seems a shade counter-productive everyone?

I think both bikes are a stupid idea for a first ride.
But I've heard lots of good things about the busa.
But I've heard lots of good things about the busa.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Ya, I was just thinking more thoughtful input would be effective. Im all for dropping the axe on people's hopes if it will save them pain, btw.einjun wrote:maybe people are taking responsibility for any sort of advice given here and will make sure safety and sensibility come before politeness. maybe they care enough for morpheus or any newbie that he is being dissuaded as much as possible. is it that people can't even bring themselves to say something like ....hmmm, maybe a hayabusa(for instance) is a better choice, considering he is new to street biking.swatter555 wrote:Seems a shade counter-productive everyone?

Anyone who was seriously considering these 2 bikes ought to be into the sport enough to know such basic information about the bikes. But hey, if someone wants to drop $10 000- $20 000 on a whim for a toy. Nothing at all about riding.
Nope, but sometimes I get pretty worried......zootech wrote:Welcome to motorcycling, friend, hope you're scared to death!![]()
