Camcorders for bikes

#1 Unread post by sv-wolf »

I'm thinking of buying a bike- or helmet-mounted camcorder to take out to India with me next month. I want something that gives reasonably high quality results. There seem to be so many on offer with all kinds of different systems that I losing the will to live.

Anyone had any experience of these.

I'm looking for advice or straightforward recommendations.

Cheers

Richard

Cheers Doc

Thanks for taking the trouble to post. The first one was particularly helpful.

Never been a good researcher - I get far too impatient and eventually just lose it.

I've been debating one these from Oregon Scientific.

They look like a less expensive option than the other links.

I received that camera as a Christmas Present and I am not impressed by it. I tried tying it down to my bike since there was no where to mount it and the camera constantly rattled and chortled which made the audio quality completely vanish.

Also the slightest bump in the road and the picture got really jarbled.

I have one that's pretty great - but the cost is also pretty great. Oddly I haven't gotten around to editing any of the videos and putting them online yet. Boo @ me. But if you look around for the VIO POV1 you'll see what I mean. Plenty of other vids out there. Great video quality, haven't figured out the sound enough yet to call that great.
