GSXR Turn Signal Problem??? Pls Help!!

#1 Unread post by Tightpants »

Hi Folks I am new to this board so please be gentle!!

I have a 1999 Suzuki GSXR 600 SRAD which has an indicator fault in that the indicator works fine to the right but is dead as a dow dow to the left.

I have checked the switch and that is fine, and the strange thing is that when i turn on the alarm all four bulbs work fine?? That odviously rules out the bulbs and sockets.

Any suggestions??

Many thanks

TP

turn signal?? check the switch on the bar. its best to take it apart but?? it may not be making a good contact. try spraying some wd-40 in there. dont worry this is good for it.

otherwise you can check the voltage from the switch, etc to pin point the problem.
say what

Hi huh,

thanks for the reply, I have dismantled the switch and that is not the problem without doubt.

Indicator??? Turn Signal???

I am from England and here we call it the indicator, obviously you call them turn signals.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers

I had the same problem on my 1984 ninja 900. It was a wire in the ignition switch that would make contact right, and just pull apart enough to not work on a left turn. I soldered it togther, problem solved. It could be a wire that is pulling apart inside a plug or a stretched wire. check how the ties are inside the fairing area.

Good Luck
