2005 kawasaki ex500?
2005 kawasaki ex500?
I am looking at buying a 2005 Kawasaki ex500 this weekend. I was wondering if it would have any problems making a 6 hour ride after the first 1000 mile break in. My Dad owns a Gold Wing and wants me to take a road trip with him after I buy my bike. I was wondering if this would be hard on a 500? I would also like to know the horsepower rating for this bike. Any information on the bike will help me. Thank you.

go for it, the break in period for the engine usually lasts 600 miles, after the first service (usually just changing the oil) it's all about the same, whether you ride a long ways or a little ways.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Ninja 500 has about 50 HP at rear wheel. This list of GS500 test data over the years shows the EX/Ninja 500 test results where GS data came from comparo tests between the two. Includes a couple tests on the 2005 models.Joshua82 wrote:I am looking at buying a 2005 Kawasaki ex500 this weekend.
