With the same bike I paid $300 a year with Rider Insurance for Full Coverage (Including Accessories). I feel like I told you this already but I figured I would just throw that up for anyone else who was curious.

Oh and I'm 28, no tickets, not married.

My new SV650 was about $350-$400 per year, liability + comprehensive + roadside, through Progressive.

I notice some difference within the same company for similar coverage.

I was quoted online, and the actual policy came out less than the quote.

So, how did you guys get your quote, Broker or Online?

That may account for some of the discrepancies.

RadamYgg, you are in NJ, like me...online or broker?

When I first bought my bike I went through the motorcycle dealer to sign up for the cheapest full coverage which ended up being Progressive.

Since then I've been getting quotes through the Drive online thing and when it comes out to be cheaper I just bring the info to my insurance broker and she makes changes to my bill to reflect the changes.

When I get my next bike I'll probably go through the broker since she can get my driving record more accurately but I'll start with the online before to see what it comes up with.

I checked out Geico and esureance and progressive(thats who my insurance company Horace Mann uses for bikes)

Same full coverage amounts for all

Geico 12225.00 Per year
Esurance 1120.00 Per year
Progressive 515 Per Year.

I am 24, 1st bike and 1 ticket in the past 3 years. Not too bad IMHO.

Is it true that if the bike is financed the insurance is way higher?

I commented to my boss (who is an attorney) that Progressive had quoted me a figure significantly lower than anyone else and he said that among lawyers they have a very bad reputation of resisting paying claims. Just one opinion but gave me something to think about.

depends. With any financed vehicle IT IS REQUIRED BY THE BANK to have full coverage until that vehicle (be it motorcycle/car/truck) is paid off. Either way I have full coverage on my paid with cash motorcycle and it would cost me the same if I had it financed.

Thanks. I have full coverage on mine and it is not financed. But my bf was looking at the new Triumphs and some one told him, the full coverage was going to be alot higher if he financed. I had never heard that before.
