Taken with a Fujifilm Finepics S700..
Let's see what you got.
It was a quick one-off shot I took with the kit lens in a dim room at ISO 1600. Totally unplanned, but that's the way I like themfireguzzi wrote:I like that top portrait jonnythan. I would like to learn to do good portraits but I need to get better at setting up the camera just right. If anyone wants to include tips in this thread I know I would appreciate it. Some other newbies might too.
I like the sunset too Johnj. Is that around where you live?
I lived in Norman before Thunderbird existed. I came home on leave from the Navy after being gone a couple of years, jumped on my uncle's motorcycle, and took off out east of town (whatever route number Alameda becomes). What a surprise when I crested a rise and saw nothing but water!!!!! Managed to get stopped about 5 feet from the water's edge and just sat there trying to figure out what was going on. Turned around, found the sign about quarter of a mile back warning about the road being out (I missed it the first time), and then went hom. My mom had forgotten to mention Thunderbird to me (actually, I'm not even sure it had a name then....it wasn't even a lake yet).beardking wrote:I have to say that this is about the only way I've seen Thunderbird look decent. I grew up around Norman and live for about 8 years in Norman before I moved down here. Spent a lot of time at Dirtybird.
Great shot, although I'd suggest doing a little photoshopping to level that horizon a little more.
