New Bike?????

Is it worth trying to sell my bike or should I just trade it in? I dont want to buy a new bike right now as I want to pay 100% cash but right now I feel I have no choice. I am to the point now where I am FED UP with fixing this bike all the time. I will fix it to make sure it runs before I sell it but right now im at a point where I just want a brand new bike now that I am over the "learning" part (we will always be learning but you know what I mean). I plan on going and buying end of Feb beginning of march (no point in doing it now). I should have about 6 grand saved up by then to buy the Multistrada 1100S. However My wife wants a bike so I will have to use half for hers and half for mine. She wont get as big a bike as she JUST got her liscence. What sucks is we most likely wont be getting 2 bikes from the same dealer beacuse I am not sure if she will like something like the Truimph 56bhp bikes.

Would your wife be interested in your bike? That's probably the best move financially, but I understand it may not be the most desireable move emotionally from her POV.

If you don't mind the slight hassle of selling it, you will get more money than trading it in.

I'm not sure I understand your math though...

she likes the bike but like I said im tired of fixing it. So I would rather go buy her a new one from the dealer of the same bike.

Looks like the s2r and s4r have the same riding position as the MS1100S. I may go for one of those intead of he MS.

Nope, the riding positions are completely different with the bars much lower and the pegs much higher on the Monsters. They are comfortable in their own way, but not easy chair comfy like the Multi's. Coming off of your Shadow, the S2R will feel like a missle. They can be had quite cheap these days too and cost far less than the 4 valver to maintain.

. The local ducati shop doesnt have any MS's which is kinda odd but then again they prob dont sell many. I know I liked the 1000 when I sat on it. I havent sat on any of the s2 or s4r's.

Anyhow selling it would probably net you a higher sum of money but trade ins can net you a decent deal if you buy the bike from them. I managed to snag a deal with my GZ250 where i got 90% of what i paid for it. I'm still kicking myself for not taking the 1998 Ninja 500 but i was used to cruisers at the time.

With winter around the corner for you up there is there a big sale on last years bikes?

not sure I havent looked yet. I asked for a quote on an MS see what they come back with. as for promotions not really

Also the seat is much lower on the S2R than the Multi. The S2R feels so tiny because of that. I test rode the Hyper(which is based on the Multi) and the S2R1K back to back and the S2R1K felt soooo low, I was flat footed with my knees bent quite a bit on the S2R1K, while on the Hyper, I couldn't flat foot both feet. If you are a fairly new rider that learned on a cruiser, that is something to think about.
