Best wishes with getting it sorted.

As for me and as for today - It has been a wholly blank episode in my life and in the history of the universe. I did nothing to it and it did nothing to me.

OK, I slept and ate a bit and yawned occasionally, and posted on a couple of sites, but nothing more. Now it's time to go to bed.
yeah found one of the splices I did 4 months ago burned up. So now I am just gonna pull the wiring out and see if I can either buy a new harness, or cut the bad out and butt splice (butt connector) and hope that I dont cut out to much so I can still reach the male end of the connector.

so my guess is the battery died again (took about 5 hours to charge back up so im guessing im right) because it wasnt getting the correct charging voltage again.

My day has been 32 hours. Or so Wrider told me. I'm beyond math right now, it's been a packed 32 hours.

ofblong,

Try using solder and high strenght heat shrink. Radio shack should have it, then throw a couple pieces of electrical tape and heat srrink the hole magilla a second time. I have a T-Bird with the same problem. I must of used twenty feet of wire and 30 solderless connectors before I final broke down and fixed it with the above solution. Heat kills the breaks in electrical wireing and distroyes the wire down the line through corrosion.

well I had heat shrinked it before. Didnt solder it but I learned. This time I put some water proof/heat resistant butt connectors in. Then reheat shrinked it then wrapped a boat load of electrical tape around it. Bike started right up with a charged battery. Im hoping it will start right back up in 6 hours.

Worked on holsters today, I have quite a few of orders to get out. And wouldn't you know, one of my last trusty needles broke :x And to top it off, my supply order from way back at the beginning of Aug hasn't shown up yet. Well apparently a moron thought the zip code to my address looked like the zipcode that goes to an address in Nevada...really...the "96" of the first code looks like the "89" of the other? It's great to have tracking confirm # so I can see that it still hasn't arrived here, where I need it. I guess the upside is that it actually made to to an AFB at all.

Anyway, I found some needles I can work with. I only hope they hold out and I can get out my orders in the quoted turn around time. It gets old though, being ahead of the game and managing my part well only to have some jackass outside my control screw me up.

<sigh> Oh well, at least I've got orders to be crunched with. I guess business could be worse :|

THe money that was for college was not touched for a while since I worked at the UPS and they paid for it while also paying me pretty well for a part time job. Shame that I got stuck with the hours no one wanted (extreme night shift). I got too tired for some classes (and they weren't available later in the day) so I left about 2 years ago (that last pay stub is going into the scrap book).

You should see the horrible wiring job I did on my taillights. I just stripped them and taped them up afterwards without any soldering. Surprisingly it held up really well for a long time and in harsh weather. I plan on making the connectors modular that way I can get rid of the spaghetti mess surrounding the rear of my bike.

Put a better working horn on the bike, my old one was more effective to yell at people or throw things. Also adjusted my handlebars and mirrors.

Today I hit a hawk in my Jeep. It was on the side of the road eating lunch and I took it by surprise. Took flight a little too late and a little too far to the left. Nothing I could do.

I went to get gas and couldn't find a gas station with any left. Not sure why this seems to only be a problem in the south right now.

Now I am eating grilled shrimp and surfin the forums.

Hurricane Ike took out the refineries in Houston. They are only operating at 40-50% capacity. Those refineries pipe fuel to the SE. And in major metro areas, they are required to only use clean burning fuel, which is a purer fuel and there is even less of that around. So cities had to get a waiver to use regular fuel in metro areas in order to try to keep consumer's supplied at all.
