Riders Course and 250 miles behind me....

Just wanted to post and say that I went through the Riders edge course here in Columbus a couple of weeks ago and managed well through it... I would definitely recommend a course like it to anyone interested in getting out there and riding...

It was definitely worth the investment...

since the course, I've taken my bike out about 5 times and have ridden about 250 miles on it... Can I say that I have had a BLAST on it... even more than what I expected to have, only wish that it was Spring and not Fall

... There are a lot of good roads in my neck of the woods that offer all of the riding variances that were shown in the class...

This bike will actually transfer to my wife once I get a new one in the next year or so... Can't wait for that shopping experience

... we had the engine guard and back seat put on the bike from the dealership and has provided that extra level of comfort of safety...

I'm in the same boat as you. I finished the course 3 weeks ago. The bike was actually bought a week before and left at the dealer until I finished the course. I picked it up and then got swamped with work. It sat in my garage for a week with me walking by it on my way to work. I have finally been able to put some miles on it.

Bah, just get some cold weather gear and you can ride as long as there's no snow or ice on the road.

I passed my riding test in August and bought a bike in November and road in the winter. almost 5 years later I've accumulated a 42,000 miles.

Which ones come to mind? I live in the area, but I'm not from here originally. I must say, winding up the Scioto River and back is a lovely little sojourn.

Yeah, it would be great to have the season in front of you instead of behind you, but so far, I've found this fall's weather to be perfect. And at least here in central Ohio, we have several breaks in the winter weather. I'm hoping to ride regularly up to December, and then see what I can eek out after that, depending on the roads. I'll be investing in a windshield first, though!

And handwarmers. I am definitely into handwarmers.

I live on the SE side of Columbus, near Canal Winchester... The best ride that I've found so far is about a 40 minute ride down Lithopolis Rd from CW to Lancaster, then back up on 33 for a little highway driving... There are other good roads besides that, but that one is getting to the point where I'm able to enjoy the ride more now that I've been on it a number of times... I'm looking forward to heading down to Southern Ohio and seeing some of the Fall colors while there still out...

It would be nice if the weather would hold up like it has the past couple of weeks for a little while longer... I've been limited to how far I can ride because my bike has had some electrical issues with the lights and turn signals... not something I want to find out doesn't work out on the road...

Looking forward to getting back out there though...
