I had my tires installed but they completed the work close to closing time so I couldn't make it down there in time to pick up my bike. The tires themselves felt sticky and had pretty deep tread but the front tread pattern is limited, so I'm curious how it reacts in the wet. Nothing compares to the Dunlop F11 Qualifiers and K627 when it comes to tread depth (well for cruiser tires anyway) and lasted pretty long but I'll see if the activated silica compound actually improves anything.

150 miles on the new Continental Milestone tires and they're great! They soak up a lot of the bumps in the road and are extremely smooth running compared to past tires. The bike drops into corners easily unlike the dunlops when band new and I thought those were the best before getting the Continentals. The tires also had a lot of grip even when riding from a cold start.
Now the next thing to do is see how they perform in the rain and even colder temps, then I'll check on the tread after a month to see how well they held up.
Oh, when slowing down for a stop light I had one hell of a shock. When I pulled in the clutch the engine was really quiet and smooth and combined with the smooth feel of the tires I got worried when I was just gliding silently, no vibration, noise, nothing. I thought the bike had just died on me until I saw the lights still on.

I was at work tonight and throwing out some dude... He stole my freakin flashlight!!! So I choked him until my coworkers told me to let go... When I did he turns around and nails me right in the chin... Plus my arm was hurting already from carrying out the guy.
He ended up with my buddy's knee planted squarely in his throat on the ground.
Oh, and I got my flashlight back..

Ouch, that's really lame. Isn't that what Comprehensive coverage for? Or do they feel that brakes are a consumables so they won't cover it?ofblong wrote:I just got my van back from when my wife hit a deer. brakes are all f'd up so ill have to replace them. apparently thats not covered under insurance.Ninja Geoff wrote:I hit a "procreating" deer with my car. I'm sure it was kinda cold to take the bike up to NH anyway huh Geoff? Makes me hope that this girl I know is back in NY that way I don't have to make a trip to MA.

the consumable part. there is a bad spot on the rotor where its been "extra" cut so now the brakes stutter when stopping. I could prob throw the rotor in the lathe here at work and "smooth" it out but new rotors are $35 a piece so ill prob just put new rotors on (this will be the 3rd set of pads I will put on the front so ill prob replace the rear pads 2).JC Viper wrote:Ouch, that's really lame.
