As good a movie as that was, it sometimes puts a sour taste in my mouth. My old roomates ex-gf, the crazy psycholiberal party, was OBSESSED with that movie. She ruined it one night for me when she would not shut up about it and comparing it to bush and whatnot.JC Viper wrote:Today is Nov. 5... Remember, Remember the 5th of November.
What did you do today...

V for Vendetta wasn't the first movie to use that line. After the whole Guy Fawkes conspiracy people in the UK and Canada celebrate Guy Fawkes Day or something and that poem about his foiled plot.Ninja Geoff wrote:As good a movie as that was, it sometimes puts a sour taste in my mouth. Besides, if we should ever dare to stand up against an oppressive government I would expect us to lose because Americans, despite this election, are still complacent.

The United States is the only country in the world that can not be occupied by any military force. There are too many guns in private hands. And I like it like that.JC Viper wrote:Besides, if we should ever dare to stand up against an oppressive government I would expect us to lose because Americans, despite this election, are still complacent.

Oh really?????? Hate to tell you this, but when it comes to having a gun culture and a heavily armed citizenship, you Yanks are mere pikers and wanna-be's compared to nations such as Iraq and Afghanistan......even kids there run around with AK-47's and last time I looked, both were occupied nations.Johnj wrote:The United States is the only country in the world that can not be occupied by any military force. Always ask why.

We can thank the Democrats with their "common sense" gun regulation bullshit for that

Offhand, what part does a gun registry play in those numbers?Besides, we have more guns in citizens hands, (per/cap) than the USA does...

Sounds like you have a heavily fortified rock even though a rock is hardy all on its own.BuzZz wrote:Not much..... they think I don't own any guns, cause I refuse to register them....but be careful walking around my yard in the dark.....Shorts wrote:

Citizens with guns probably won't do to well if they have to fight against their own army should tyranny occur. The good thing is it will never happen, this is not the bad old days of a newly established US and I doubt we will have any foreign invaders.

He he he, yeah well I may not represent everyone up here, there's alot more of us than most people realize. And a right shitload of Ex-pat 'Nam Vets with all sorts of personal armories. Lol.
And I don't even really have a problem with registering any gun, it's the little things like giving them the right to walk into your house and search it any time they want that bothers me.
Do I think they ever would bother to exercise those rights violations against me? Not really. But dammed if I'm giving them the option willingly.
