Battery charger recommendation(s)?

#1 Unread post by Dunolde »

I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 with a 12 v battery. I'd like to keep it charged up during winter storage. JCWhitney has 12V chargers from $15 to $30.
Anyone have any recommendations?

Get a Battery Tender or another similar product.
You want to trickle charge your battery. Giving it too much will short out the internal plates.

Or start it up once every week or two. That will keep the battery charged, and keep the carbs clean.

Can't hurt to keep it on a trickle charger (battery tender preffered) to keep the charge tip top. Many motorcycles don't charge well, if at all, at idle and many short trips have the potential to really drain the battery down.
