Old guy, but new rider
OK, I guess I'm not that old. 43.
I had a brief biking history prior to this year. At the age of 16, I bought an old YZ125 for $300 that I ran for a summer in my dad's field and then sold it.
Fast forward to this year. We had just bought my wife a Chrysler Sebring convertible that she's been saying she wanted for years.
As a joke more than anything, I said, "Well, now you've got your convertible, I guess it's time for me to get a bike."
Expecting a laugh, to my suprise, she said, "OK, sure."
Last week of July, after 3 weeks of heavy shopping (locally and internet) found myself a 2001 Yamaha Road Star, 1602cc with only 3,500 miles on it for $6,000.
I now have over 8,700 miles on it and my wife and I are loving this bike!! After being slightly apprehensive about riding it, she now wants to learn to ride and get her own bike.
I just stumbled onto this website and looking forward to reading all the posts here!
Happy New Year to all and have lots of safe, fun riding!

Dude your post requires a picture of your bike (strictly for show-off purposes). Welcome to the forum.
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Always wear a helmet, eye protection, and protective clothing. Never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

If you can see the tops of the mountain's it's going to rain.
If you can't - it's raining.
All Characters and events here are allegedly fictitious...Any resemblance with either dead or living is purely co-incidental
And don't ride faster than your Guardian Angel can fly
