While not exactly the same one, its close enough
That auction is for an exact replica of what I just bought. Although I will admit mine has been down and needs a little body work.
I just got it this week for the tidy sum of $1000 USD. It has pretty high mileage but seems to run strong. The previous owner(friend) just had the forks replaced, new rear tire, and new rotors and pads installed all around. Also just changed the oil too. Unfortunately the front seals were leaking so the front pads are saturated in oil. No big deal. It will be a fun, easy first project for me and my new friend. I'm thinking about taking off the fairings anyways and going for more of a street fighter look until I can get all the fairings together.
As for now, I need to get gear and take the MSF course. Which means the bike may be sitting for a little while.

take the fairings off? sport bikes look very very ugly under those plastics. i had mine off recently and didnt think it would look all that bad under but shesh it just looks horrible(design wise). leave those plastics on, im all for being different but no thing good about a naked sport bike(thats not ment to be).

If you actually do it well, taking the fairings off can be real good. But you have to get rid of a lot of the console, and wiring for it all. But, there's work involved, not just taking them off and your set. I've seen a couple people turn their dropped GSX-Rs into some mean looking street fighters with dual headlights in the front.

Maybe you can do something like this...if the front faring is intact.

Good idea getting some training if this is your first bike...Lots of power, and crisp handling.

Ride safe...God bless!

I picked up a shoei tz-1 yesterday from a friend. Fits snug and he threw in a pair of teknic gloves for a really good deal. I got to take it over to the parking lot a block from my house and start practicing basic riding. The lot has a couple of circles painted on the pavement that I used for turning. When I first started I was 2 feet outside of the line. By the time I was ready to head back, I was 2 feet inside the line going in circles. I lopped off 4-5 feet in my turning radius. It was a good way for me to get in touch with handling the clutch and throttle at slow speeds too.
