Don't forget the most important piece of riding apparel.....the muscle-tee!

Any more upper torso coverage would be overkill!

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I love my 1000, but it is much different than the others. First off, my bike has the same exact wheelbase as the SV650, so it doesn't lose anything there. Second, my bike weighs only 25 lbs more than the 650's (I got rid of one side of the exhaust and can dropping it). The 1000 can pull through the turns so well with the torque it produces, and it will get down in the turns just as well if not better than the other bikes out there. But, conering is also my favortie part of riding, and I practice it everyday, so I really get down in the turns. But, it also doesn't produce the power of supersport litre bikes. No where close. Like I said it's much different than most 1000cc bikes. It's much more ideal for the street. I couldn't imagine myself ever wanting the power of one of those.

The whole "you'll never use 100% of it's power" is kind of misleading. Yes, you shouldn't ever reach 100% of it's top end, but that's not the only aspect. I've used 100% of it's power pulling through turns and accelerating, without even going over the speed limit. The smaller displacemet wouldn't give me that there. It's not all about how fast it will go in the long run.

BuzZz wrote:If quick handleing is your top priority, get a dual sport or a supermotto machine. Put some good rubber on it, and NOTHING will touch it in any corner, bend or curve...... under 60-70 mph. Any faster and the multi-cylinder bikes have too great a power advantage for handleing to compensate for. In the city, the world is yours for the taking..... 8)
I've seen a KLR take corners that make most of my buddies who ride sportsbikes to shame.
