Do you like your drivers backrest?
I was looking at getting a protac backrest for my little Vulcan 500 since my back pain is a major source of short rides.
For those that have a drivers backrest, does your back feel less stressed or painful as well as can you go on longer rides? (Assuming your not riding with a passenger)

I wish I knew what my backrest felt like...
I ordered one while on the road this summer, expecting an express delivery to my daughter's home so I could install it when I got there. After it was ordered, I recieved an automated email telling me their shop would be closed for the next three weeks.
My daughter eventually recieved the parcel, and thinking to save money, tried to fit the backrest in a smaller box for shipping to me, it didn't work. So, she packed it up in the original box and forwarded it. When she got home from the post office, she found the bolts and instructions on her table... DOH!!! Needless to say, with her in the middle of packing for a move to a new home, I may not see those bolts any time in the near future...
Hopefully, sooner or later I will know how my backrest feels, sooner please!!!

Love mine, I can adjust it to different positions, so if I want to be more or less forward. It really helps me when I am backing up the bike it gives me leverage (have my moments). From time to time if hubby and I ride 2 up on my bike I can sit just fine on the back even with the back rest on.
Actually need to be real careful about getting on the bike if I take the back rest off, the metal clip comes up between the seat and can really hurt.

p.s. Iridemyown2...my friend has a Heritage and she has a tourpak for a backrest...It looks great and she loves it too.

I wouldn't go without mine on my Royal Star. It's adjustable, and I love it. My back has less pain now on long rides. Hubby has one on both f his bikes due to back strain. He now has zero problems with back and riding.

Before I splurged and bought a Mustang Seat with a back rest, I bought a backrest on ebay and loved it.
I cannot believe the difference between a 100 mile ride with and without something supporting my back.
I am 70 years old and with the backrest can easilly do 250 - 300 miles a day because of my bikes comfortable ride.
here is me by my bike. Please notice the backrest.
