How about the Ducati Monster 400 i.e.

#1 Unread post by night rider »

Hi, recently i did my research for a beginners bike. When i went to the closest ducati dealer they had this rare Monster 400 i.e. This 12 monster 400's where supposed to go to Japan to a Bike School. This bike school went bankrupt so they distributed this monsters around the U.S. I'd never heard before of this monster 400 i.e. Are they good? Do they lack the power?

Please somebody help me. I really like this bike but i am affraid soon enough it is going to feel too powerless.

I appreciate your comments. Thanks

are you sure a rare hard to find bike is a good choice for your first bike?
what happens when it breaks down or needs parts/service? sure it would be cool to have but it might end up costing a fortune just to own it. if cost isnt a problem then i guess go for it.

Well they are rare meaning that they don't usually make it for the public, but parts there is no problem, the engine can even be tuned up to become a 620 i.e. I just wanted to know about it's performance, i didn't want to get stuck behind when my friends accelerate in the highway.

What do your friends ride?
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Funny when I see the cops pulling out behind you...

:humm: Hhhmmm, I never spoke to any cops this weekend, did you?

That's the secret, you know...... the slowest guy is the one who's gonna get stopped, and take all the flack from the cops who are pissed at the guys who warped off into the distance. They will be mad enough to chew nails, but they will take it out on the only guy they caught.
