I dunno, I understand where the trike segment comes in but at the same time I figure a convertible will do the job just as well and be more stable in the corners.

As for the Spyder... I rode the base model with the manual tranny. It's quick, and fun but honestly I hated the brake and handling on it. The brake is a foot-lever only, there's no hand lever for it, which scares the "poo poo" out of you the first time you go for it...

Then there's the handling, if you're going in a straight line and bump the handlebars at all it wanders all over the road, plus in the corners you HAVE to lean or it will not corner at all and it's rather intimidating. That said it's a great lean angle trainer for sportbikes.

I've always liked bikes with sidecars and thought it would be a kick in the pants to ride in one. That's probably the only way my wife would ever ride a bike with me at the controls

Trikes have never really appealed to me, but an Ural Patrol makes perfect sense; three wheels (and two wheel drive) mean you don't get stopped by snow, streams, mud, or big frickin' rocks. Plus they look awesome.

No, no, no. There is no car that can compete with a trike. I don't care if it is a convertable and putting out a million bhp per (imperial) tonne it'd still be the Trike.

Most of the time I toddle around on it, I spend less time riding like a hooligan on it than I do on a bike.

However that isn't to say that the ride is boring, having the front wheel in the air is *ahem* interesting...

It's the custom so it isn't a proper 'plastic maggot', and while on the subject why would you be mean to my ride? I refer you to your signature and point out it is a MOTORtriCYCLE

CX500's are a fairly common base for trikes because they are shaft drive and a fairly solid engine for the era.
