??? I've never heard the CX called by that name. My beloved '81 CX500C was called a "Gulle Pumpe" by my German friends when I was stationed over there, apparently because the motor was a dead ringer for for the pump used on a sewage truck. I think they were just jealous.

I can't stand trikes in general, but I love the Spyder. There is a car dealership on my way to work that always has one sitting out front.
If I could convince my wife - I'd sell my car and have the B-King and a Can-Am Spyder.

Probably not going to happen this year, though.

I think it is an English thing (which does make me wonder who long Paul has been in Canada :P).

Although I have heard it used towards most CX's (although never the GL or the CX Turbo) it seems to properly be the title of the A, B and Z models which were not pretty bikes by anyones standards.

Here in Florida I see a LOT of retirees on trikes. There is a trike dealership not terribly far from me that sells Goldwings and HD converted trikes.

My impression has always been that most of the fun of a motorcycle lies in the whole 2-wheel thing, the ability to lean around turns, fit into parking spaces inaccessible to cars, etc. A trike seems like a bike... without the fun. That being said, I've never actually ridden one, so who knows.

I've always wondered though, would they tip over when turning at higher speeds? I know more than a few people who were injured, and at least 2 who were killed on a 3 wheel ATV. They were done away with for safety reasons. I keep thinking one sharp turn on a trike at 40mph or better and watch out!

I had our Trike throw itself across a lane to the left on a righthander when I first started riding it, trying to treat it exactly like a car or a bike will end in trouble.

I throttle off to the apex of the corner, and then start piling it back on. The effect feels a lot like being slingshot through the corner. :)

Been discussing it with another trike owner and he says that you can counter lean to the outside of the corner (instead of the inside like on a bike) which dig the outside tire in and allows you to corner at faster speeds.

This is 'Busa Pauls trike, I am supposed to be going out for a hoon with him at some point this summer...

Surprised it is not in the TM Dictionary, given things like Hardbelly are...

Hoon-
To ride quickly/aggresively alone or in a small group. To actually 'work' the bike/ride hard.
