Best all around motorcycle
Best all around motorcycle
Well guys and gals, some of you are going to say something about this. But I think the best all around motorcycle is the Buell while there are far better bikes at doing things then the Buell, it is just good at so many things. It may be slow then this or can't turn as good as that one. But when you look at the hole package , Price, cost of maint, rideabilty. light weight, good power. But like I said there are bikes it can not touch in areas. To me there is only one other that might beat it as a al arounder and that the Triumph Bonneville. The standers have always been good al arounders . So now it is time for you to add to this , but think about Not the bike that is best at a few things ,but good at most things.

Well I think the best motorcycle has to be the Honda CG125.

Cheap to buy, almost indestructable, light enough to pick up, incredibly cheap spares, easy to work on and you can expect 110mpg. It really does have the complete package.
More than 30 years of production cannot be wrong.

I know there a lot of great bikes out there abd there are a lot o f are better doing things then my Buell . But I was looking at the hile package. Like how you sit on it , how it turns , how the hp. the weight, the power band, brakes , and so on. If I wanted to race on a track it would not be my Buell, If i wanted to tour the USA it would not be my Buell there are always better bikes to do some jobs.
Like I was to pick a middle weight sport bike I would pick the 2009 Triumph Daytona 675 as being the best. There are other go bikes in that class but Daytona is better. Now it easy to pick a sport bike in the 250cc there is only one I would buy.

Sorry but your statement about 60's, 70's and 80's bikes just will not bear any weight. Even before that going back to the very begining there have always been sportsbikes, commuters and cruisers.
As for middle of the road bikes - commuters - there are plenty of well mannered, reasonably powered machiens out there. Pretty much every manufacturer has them in inventry right now.

Thats okay there are plenty of 250cc bikes which should be a very natural bike in European markets because of the restricted licence which just don't make it over here.
Honda have the CBF600 and the CB600F as solid middle weight bikes, with the XL750L being aimed at the middleweight'Adventure' market. The CBF being aimed at the commuter market and the Hornet more at the Hooligans.
What does irritate me is the constant power increases from manufacturers. The CB500 put out more than 50bhp was a good weight, comfortable even two up and was capable of more than 110mph with grace. (I chickened before I pushed it much further)
