I had one. 8)

I bought the first '98 VFR800FI that my dealer got back in February of 1998. That was a great bike. It sounded awesome with the high mount Two Brothers exhaust with the then new spun-weave Carbon Fiber. It sounded like an Indy Car!

Other than the current 2002 - 2009 VFRs which I am not crazy about, I love all VFRs!

There are a few 'Ceptors floating around. My wife rides a 86 VFR 750 and I have a 84 VF1000F. Both are daily riders.
I would be the old, slow guy. Just let me know where you are going and I'll try to get there before you leave.

Yep, here's mine. I always knew that I would have a VFR but thought that I wasn't quite old enough for the "Gentlemens Express". Then I picked this one up on ebay, as a second bike, or project to fix up and it grew on me. My main bike has since moved on (VTR1000 - awesome bike but hard on the wrists and crappy fuel range), and another "main bike" has come and gone (GT1000 - blech). My wife has given me the go ahead to buy a new bike this year but insists that I have to go down to only 1 bike! But I just can't seem to part with the VFR....

By the way I really dig your first generation VFR. The upgrades that you mention remind me of a bike that has been posted up on VFRD. Would that be you?

Ceemes, if I could find one in good shape, I's probably snap it up... I've always liked the Sabre.... V4, the lines, standard bike performance.... just a good lookin' Honda !
