Kill switch bad?

#1 Unread post by ofblong »

Ok tonight I went to start my bike. I have been having problems lately that once in a while the bike will try to start but wont. well its been 2 weeks since I started it (sorry but in the 30's and raining isnt what I call a fun riding time as well as it just snowed 2 days ago). I flipped the switch to run and it wouldnt do anything. all the lights were on but it didnt even try to start. So I turned the switch off then back on and then it started just fine. I havent taken the assembly apart to look at the switch but is this a type of switch that could have some corrosion on it that can be cleaned off or is it most likely something im gonna have to replace? I am just afraid that riding down the road it might "quit" on me cause of the switch now that I know the one time it wouldnt start at first.

or is this something I can just jumper the wires together and not have to ever worry about it?

Yeah it could just be a corroded switch or a loose wire. Pretty easy to take apart and fix or replace.

Was it a lot of deer-gut dirt?
People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

no it looked like it was mostly years of riding dirt even though the bike only has 24k miles on it. It was almost like dirty oil.
