I've passed my BRC and I'm looking for a motorcycle to continue my motorcycle experience on. I'm curious on how people feel about the Suzuki Boulevard C50, or its predecessor the Volusia, as a bike to get. In case your curious about my size and experience, I'm 6 foot and 225 lbs. with no experience other than that I gained at the BRC. Any other suggestions for a first bike would be appreciated.
I had heard that the fenders were plastic but considering the entry-level price tag it carries I'm not surprised. I do like the idea that it has EFI and if I have to sacrafice plastic fenders to get that I'm fine with that.
I was looking at the C50 myself, but decided to not buy new. I read several reviews of the Volusa that had nothing but good things to say about it. I personally like the looks of them.

Well I bought a C50 and I LOVE it! It was my first bike ever, and I never rode a bike until my BRC just like you. At first I thought it was too big for me, but now it seems to fit me just right. I'm 5' 10" and weight in at 220.
I really liked the C50T that I sat on. They get great reviews and I believe they are both fuel injected and shaft drive. Depnding on the valve mechanisms, they could be wonderfully "set it and forget it" in the maintenance department. I know, carbureted, chain driven, 6000 mile valve lash adjustment fool that I am.
My Dad has a 2005 C50 and loves it. It continues to earn accolades in all three of my motorcycle magazines for being a lot of really good bike for the price. For a bit of variation, check out the M50, too. Same engine, but the chassis has a bit more attitude. Had it been on the market when I bought my Meanie, I'd probably be riding one instead.
