Hey all!
We just purchased an 85 Yahama Maxim 700, and after spending the majority of yesterday tinkering with it, figured I would come here and ask for some guidance.
The bike will fire, but it dies when it's at low RPMS. For example, if you start it, it will rev up and sound fine. If you let it idle, it dies.
The carbs have been cleaned, and it's not an issue of getting fuel. We're thinking it might have something to do with the vacuums, but are not entirely sure.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks!

If increasing the idle didn't help, then some crap-n-corrosion probably got dislodged and is partially or fully blocking the openings in one or more of the carb jets. You may need to strip them down again and give the jets a cleaning.
It sounds like it is not getting fuel when the throttle is opened.

No Witnesses....
