bike won restart after a ride

#1 Unread post by sbrothman »

I have a Yam. V star 1100. starts right up in the garage. I go for a ride and stop for about 15 minutes or more and I have trouble starting it back up. seems like the battery is good. starter motor is turning, just wont kick over. After trying for about 3-5 minutes. it will kick over and then it runs fine again.
Any ideas???

I am guessing this is the question you were referring to in your other post...

I don't care.......

But really...... I just read it.

It sounds like the engine turns over, but it doesn't fire when hot? or when warmish? But fires up fine when cold?

Hard to answer that over the web, but I would check the spark plugs first. At least clean them, replacing them is better.

If that don't get it, I would be looking at the fuel delivery system next. Is the bike injected or carbed? At a guess, if it is fueling related, it sounds like the bike might be too rich, since it starts good cold (when rich is your friend) and not so good warm (when too much fuel in the air mixture is not so friendly).

So you could also say... Nobody knows....

No Witnesses.... :shifty:
