Carbs-Jetting

person before me replaced the pipes on a 1982 kawisakia 550 ltd.I belive that they were raceing pipes.He jetted the carb's with over size jets[112].
It was running rought and always had to have the choke on full untill it got hot then I could take the choke of.It had quite a bit of power [torque].
I did notice a vacuum leak on two of the carb to block rubbers. I sealed them.After that it ran very bad no power to speak of.I changed the jet's to 102-98-84 -112-124 and none of that seemed to make it run correctly.
I adjusted the carb sliders so the vacuum would be the same.on the right hand side of the engine those 2 cyl would be 4 on the vac gage,on the left I think those 2 cyl would be 3 on the vac gage. Funny but it ran alot better with the vacuum leak.ha ha ha Mybe Ill drill a small hole in the rubber to create a vacuum leak.
What could have gone wrong?

Jetting's probably still not right. Have you checked the air filter? A full air filter will cause a rich running condition.

Also, you haven't properly synchronized the carbs, they should be the same across the board.

If the valves are improperly adjusted, it will cause the synchronization to give varying readings.

What size are the stock jets supposed to be ?
