Morrigan is home. She's been home since Friday late night. Even though it is one of the two of them the amount of sleep we've gotten so far wasn't all that great.

Cordelia is still in NICU; however, it is only because she doesn't eat 100% from the bottle. Once she attains that goal, I'll be getting even less sleep. :)

Packed up the family in the mini-van and me on my bike and took the bike to the Suzuki dealer for service. Didn't check the odometer, but I think its 20 to 30 miles to the dealer I choose. Rizzon Cycle in NJ. I'll review their service after it is all said and done. I asked for an estimate on the scratches I've put on my bike - on the big stuff anyway. The two guys I met there were really cool.

It was a nice day to get a little riding in and nice of my wife to let me take the bike out to get its service.

They have a B-King that they want to get rid of over there... He said $9300 OTD. A bit better than mine at $10,500 OTD. If I'd known they would see it that cheap I would've gone there instead of out in Long Island.

But the ad on their website is for a price of $10K+ and the add on Crazy Freddies was $8500.

And it would have been a hell of a lot closer...

Interesting little factoid I found out about motorcycles and registration in NJ.

If you buy a new bike in NJ during the off season you only get a 1/2 year registration. I found this out on Saturday at the motorcycle dealer. I was wondering WTH - why did I get a bill for registration from the DMV when I'm hardly in to this year when I bought the bike new.

I think there was some logic about bikes not being insured year round and that is why they developed this.... But I didn't think that was legal.

Not legal?? NOT LEGAL???!!!!
Why, you miserable worm, how dare you question the authority of the all-mighty, the all-knowing, the NJ DMV?????

Heh. I bought my V-strom in November, and the reg. expires in April, so I know what you mean. With 3 cars and 4 bikes in the family, I don't ask questions anymore, I just fill out the renewals whenever they show up....

Ahhhhhh scary post scary post.... Oh wait, not so scary.

I happen to take pride in being a miserable worm. Every day I gain a little bit more weight and become more worm like.

I always thought that if you had a motor vehicle in NJ - you had to have it insured year-round - or they gave you a nasty surcharge. Maybe it is only cars?

But I think you are right... Best not to question the DMV... They send stuff - pay it - and maybe meekly ask a question about it later as long as your paperwork is all in perfect order. And you have all 50 points of ID set straight. And you haven't left the country in the last 5 years...

Ahhh ok - status.

Twin B - Morrigan - home and keeping us awake.
Twin A - Cordelia - still in NICU. She had some minor complication due to her feeding tube being moved and irritating her intestines, but now there is no longer any blood in her stool. But until she is eating 100% from the bottle, she won't be able to come home.

It is a little frustrating, as we have recommendations for the nurses in regard to feeding her as we have experience with her identical twin at home.

Anyway....

Finally got my bike back from the shop. It is hard to get it because of all the scheduling and stuff like that.

$224 for my initial maintenance - which isn't so bad.
$368 for repairs to most of the things that I scratched up. I may replace some other pieces with third party parts - so that balances up nicely.

I'm looking to replace the clutch cover with a third party part. A clutch cover with maybe the Hayabusa Kanji on it. But I wonder if I can change this clutch cover without dumping out all the fluids from the engine?

Worst comes to worst I'll buy the part and have the dealer install it on my next service 3600 mi from now.

Ahhh well. At least I've got the bike back and it is a lot less scratched up than it was.

If you decide to do it yourself, make sure to have enough oil on hand to do an oil change and a gasket for the case.

Glad to see at least one of the girls is home, but I"m sorry about the second. She'll be home soon enough I'm sure!

Good news on the second. She finally got the feeding tube out - and she should be that much closer to coming home!

As for the clutch cover... I'll have to think about that one. Maybe I'll get the part and send it to the dealer when I get my next service.

Well, the twins are both home now. Cordelia came home on Friday - and the crying hasn't stopped... Ahh, sleep I knew you well.

I know this is gonna sound weird, but I'm sending you congratulatory sorrow... lol
Congratulations that they're home, and I'm sorry you now sleep less than the average insomniac.

^Yeah, I was trying to figure out how to word that, too.

I'm glad she's home, and I hope she settles in soon. How are the boys adjusting?
