So i've made a few posts about the SV650, ninja 250/500/650's but the more I look into the SUMO bikes the more I think it'll fit what kind of riding I'll be doing.
I'll be riding mostly around Honolulu and with limited freeways and a lot of city riding and twisites. I'm gonna live on one of the best twisties on Oahu (tantalus).
So I was wondering if a SUMO is an ok bike to start on?
I don't really know what kinds of use bikes are out there but it seems like it would be easier to ride in the city since its so light and also it'll kill in the twisties once I'm good enough to ride it at its potential...
What do you guys think???
Super Moto as a first bike???

I think a 'tard or SUMO in it's smaller varieties make an excellent first bike. One big caveat with the 'tards are their tall seat height; which may or may not be a problem for a novice depending on how tall you are.

DRZ motard is only 35" seat height so you should have no problem at 5'11". The DRZ Dual Purpose is a different story at almost 37".cching wrote:I'm 5' 11".
I was thinking about a used DRZ if I can find one.

I LOVE my DRZ SM.
Only issue is after 100+ miles in a day it can punish your rearend a little.
All my vids http://www.HowzitDoneCrash.com currently feature my DRZ.
