Slept until about noon today. Normally that would be a bad thing, but seeing as I didn't fall asleep until about 7 this morning, I felt no guilt. I'm sleepy.

Finally woke up, jogged a slow mile, got squeaky clean, and got ready for work. I'm here now, getting ready to show up to court tomorrow morning for speeding ticket #2. Sigh.

I never did get a ticket with the bike. :?

Too bad my truck doesn't have the sort of get up and go the FZR did...

Haha slept a bit longer than you and I know exactly what you mean about the tickets with a bike. I've been above 100 many more times on a bike than in a car, never been caught on a bike, but I lost my license with my 04 Intrepid...

Great Ride!

#2035 Unread post by terry47147 »

Well, my bud's both had other stuff to do today, so I decided to take a ride by myself. I hadn't taken the VLX out on the freeway yet, so I planned a trip that would include some superslab time. I decided on a campground that is about 65 miles from home. It is a private campground with a swimming pool and the few that show up on a Sunday afternoon have a great time in the water and just visiting. I actually ran into the younger brother of a guy I went to school with, as well as about 3 old friends. The trip was great and I felt confident about getting my boy out at freeway speeds. This is the 1st bike in 23+ years and within the two weeks that I've had it I've logged almost 1,000 miles!!! And, I had quadruple heart surgery in April! I'm loving life again!

Just returned from the Burn Run in support of the Vancouver Firefighters Burn Fund. This run has got to be the best kept secret of all the local charity rides. Vancouver to Harrison Hot Springs, 275 bike, mainly sport bikes, sport cruisers and naked, with the odd full on cruiser and HD thrown in.

VCP escorted us from W4th to the new Golden Ears bridge.....a damn good ride for a good cause. Pictures and write to follow later once me backside stops throbbing.
Always ask why.

If I hadn't gone to visit my Mom, that was what I was going to do. I rode up to Pender Harbour to see her.

Talked to the prosecutor this morning. Got out with a 2 week extension on the payment AND deferred adjudication. Dressing nice and a nice/polite attitude goes a long way.

Remember last year showing up to court for that massive speeding ticket (that I still swear was not me... sigh) and seeing the same thing: tons of blokes strolling in wearing jeans, tattered t-shirts, loads of excuses, etc etc. It's kind of pathetic.

Then went to the Dojo and surprised hubby by wearin' a new dress for him - made him a happy boy (usual garb consists running shorts and a tshirt...). We had a small lunch and then had class together. Good day overall.

We went to Canada Day in London 2009! :D

There were about 10,000 canadians there and they annouced it was the "2nd largest Canada Day outside of Canada"... We guessed the biggest would be in the USA somewhere?

We heard Canadian bands, Canadian music, there was Canadian beer for sale (I had a Sleeman's Cream Ale), Canadian food (Andrea had a Montreal smoked pork sandwitch). Tim Hortons was there, plus Bison Burgers, Sloppy Joe's, Curly fries and more. :D

We got red Maple Leafs painted on and wave our Canadian flag, wore out Canadian T-Shirts (those 2010 Olympic HBC ones).

The entertainment was great. At 18:00 Surrey Choir came on and Andrea was one of the founding singers for the group and got to meet them (and they remembered her), and she got bugger off with them for a bit at the Canadian Consulate, so she really enjoyed that. Then we went for a couple drinks at the Pub and had some pup grub. It was a very good Canada Day! :canada:

While we were there a couple hundred motorcycles went by honking for "No Tax for motorcycles parking in london" awareness ride.

So, that's what we did eh. :D
