Are there any US dealers of underbone motorcycles?

I was in Greece this summer and everyone there is riding underbone bikes, they are small, cheap, efficient and i guess easy to ride. From my little search they are really popular in the Philippines also. I have searched maybe i can find something in the US but so far no luck.

I basically want this bike for the summer and will be used in NYC, Queens area not for big trips or anything like that, plus i dont know how to ride a motorcycle but i think i can learn easy with one of these bikes since its not big and not heavy and you cant really speed with these bikes.

Anyway, i cant find a dealer or a shop or anyone that sells underbone motorcycles in the US, maybe they are not popular maybe they are restricted for whatever reason i dont know. If i cant find one here will it be worth it getting a used one from europe and getting it shipped here?

What im looking for to buy is this bike right here, the Yamaha Crypton Z 110 or something similar.

looks like a cross between a scooter and one of those little standards you see all over the less developed parts of the world. I doubt they would ever be popular here

Did you inquire at the Yamaha dealer there in Queens?

Im pretty sure you'll never be able to get that model here in the US. Its because the market here is larger displacement bikes. Smaller moto's such as those below 250cc don't sell. That's to bad because there are tons of 250cc and under model bikes that are sooooo fun to ride!

I'm from the Philippines, and yes, those things are ridiculously popular here and in the rest of Asia (I think they're also called "stepthroughs" in other parts of the world). I learned on several of those (they range from 50-150cc's). They're practical, almost indestructible, get around 80 km/liter (180-190 miles per gallon ), cheap to rent if you're backpacking around Asia, and cheap to buy (you can bring one home from the dealer with a US$100 downpayment).

They're pretty much heirs to the throne of the legendary Honda Cub and AFAIK, pretty impossible to find in the US.

"Wrecks" is correct... It's a shame that American mantra states that "bigger is better"... I don't know of any bikes truly similar to the one pictured, but Honda has a couple of alternatives. The 150cc "SH150i" looks like it may be closest to what you're talkin' about. It's an automatic, so that would definitely help a new person learn the basics of how to handle a two wheeler. My personal problem with the scooter line up is the relatively expensive prices makers ask for theml The Honda will set you back about $4,500.00 plus shipping, taxes and such.
