2005 Kawi 636 aftermarket exhaust issue

#1 Unread post by gooter80 »

well i installed my Hindle system the other day, when i took apart my stocker i realized there was an exhaust vavle right before the can. i knew if i simply left it off it would cause my FI light to come on. Does anyone know how to get around this? im sure there is a way to disconnect the vavle or keep the power from it, something must work. im just not sure what to do. any tips?

Did you buy a complete system or just a can? A complete system should have come with at least some sort of statement about this valve. Either how to incorporate it or that it would be taken out of the new system, along with some sort of disclaimer, no doubt. A new cannister should just replace the stock sytem from that valve back.

I would contact Hindle and ask them.

I suspect that the full system eliminates the valve and the lowend power benefits it gives, in order to boost top-end power. Yamaha has had this problem for years with thier EXUP valve, or rather owners who wanted to change thier exhausts have.
