Hi everyone - just bought my first bike - 02 suz volusia 800 - going to work out the title details on monday. It doesn't come with any manuals or tools, I ordered a clymer service manual from amazon, but wanted to ask if

a) anyone knows of a place to d/l owner's manual (just to figure out what is where - i googled it and struck out except for clymer manuals, etc)

b) do bikes come with specific tools these days set up for a particular bike? and if so, where's a good source? (suzuki website was a strike out)

P.S. I'm new here - been lurking about a month. I started all this with the MSF BRC - took and passed a month ago, then discovered these forums and have been reading everything I can get my hands on, including proficient motorcycling

Looking forward to first practice items:
1) quick stops
2) cornering
3) figure 8's and slow speed control

try bikebandit. they have lots of manuals available from what i saw when i was cruising their site, and being an '02 you could probably get it at a decent price since it shouldn't be special order.

i think there was also somewhere on the Suzuki website where you could request manuals or something, i asked about info for my madura on there, i'll see if i can dig up a link.

I have access to the mechanic's website so I'll get you the Suzuki Owner's manual for free. PM me an email address and I'll send the PDF your way.
As far as tools, the only specific tools that the toolkit had for that bike was the shock adjuster. You should be able to get away with a generic one for that bike though if you finagle enough. (Although it is a PITA to get to the shock to adjust it.)

I've got the 05 version. the C50. Good bike. Heres to hopin yours doesn't have that plastic thing in the seat that tries to make friends with your colon

Mine didn't come with tools either. I can get by with a couple sizes of sockets, an allen wrench or two, and a notched credit card for the valves.
