Check this old relic 1972 Kawi 100.

Does anyone know if this old bike has any value? It's been sitting in a friend's shed for who knows how long and she wants to clean up the shed.

I tried the kickstart...the engine actually turned over....

That is a piece of history right there! If I restored bikes I would totally go for it, but sadly I have little to no mechanical skill

We actually got one of those going the other day at the shop. Carb location is weird on those compared to most bikes.
As for value? Not really much there. Kwaka made the same bike for years, I think the one we got going was a 92 or something like that.
Gotta love the little KX100s though, 2 strokes with little bores can be fun to put around on!

Oh, well. Any old bike is worth keeping if you ask me, if for no other reason than to supply parts for someone's project someday. If the engine turned over, grab that thing up and start tinkering. It'll give you something to mess with when the weather is too bad for riding.

Nice, if I had the space and the tools I would be all over it. As for value, maybe some collector would be interested.

I doubt it would ever be worth more than a few hundred dollars, but I think that it would definitely be worth restoring to running condition. I'd love to have something like that to tool around on. Check out the Old Skool forum on totalmotorcycle to see what other people do with similar projects.

Just my nickle...

The 100cc Kawasaki (and the 90cc before that) were great bikes for their times. However, as a beater bike that you will never get you money out of, it can be worth ir to restore it if you truly like it. Nevertheless, it has limited suspension travel and a motor down on power. Also, it shows a lot of pitting and other signs of age. When you kick started it and (your words) it turned over did it actually start or just showed that the pistons were free. There also maybe a problem is that the rings were frozen and you might have gouged the cylinder walls. Do a compression check the nest time you go sse the bike.

But I think it would be a great project if you have the wrenching skills. It is not worth having a restorer do the work.

Nice bike, could be restored. I would do a search to see how popular they are. Maybe put an ad in the Classic Motorcyle ad magazine

omg blues, offer your friend $100 for it and put it on the street. And ride it off road. A lot.

At least that's what I'd do to it, if I could.
