Hey everyone!
Just got my XL883L. First real ride. Had a ZX9 10 years ago, for 10 days...

Anyways, it's great to be here and to have so many share their wisdom.

Let's just say that the ZX9 had an impromptu introduction to a guardrail post and I learned the valuable lesson that rubber provides more traction than plastic...

This is my first street bike (09 Iron 883). I had no idea. I have done over 600 miles my first week just riding alone.

This is awesome!!

Thank you! I do love it. I always heard people say "if I have to explain, you would not understand"

I understand now.

My trade off was, quit smoking cigarettes and I can buy a new bike.

What an awesome trade.

Thank you. I really do like some of the bigger bikes, but at 5-8 , 135 lbs and being a new rider on the street, I thought it would be best to start with a smaller bike. I may get a bigger bike in the future as I become a more experienced rider, but I will never sell this bike, it is amazingly fun to ride.

I was not sure on the pipes, but hit the dealership the right week I guess, as I received a $1000 gift card with my purchase of the bike, which basically made the pipes free. I like the all black, but did keep the stock chrome ones.
