Hi Everyone
I have just joined this forum and thought that this would be of interest to you.
Here is a brief summary of my background:
My first bike was a Honda cz100 monkey bike and lucky for me, it was unbreakable!
I started racing motocross at the age of 12 on a Suzuki trail 90cc.
When I left school at 16, I went to work at our family run Honda motorcycle dealership.
In the late 70’s I started racing grass track in the UK, riding both Godden and Weslake machines.
In the mid 80’s, I turned professional and rode for Poole speedway, which took me into the early 90’s when I rode in the world indoor ice speedway series in the USA.
This was quite something, racing around hockey rinks on 500cc speedway bikes with studs in your tyres. It almost seems quite crazy now!
In the late 90’s, I changed to tarmac racing which comprised of European hill climbing and circuit racing, riding both Honda CBR600 and 900 machines.
In 2001, I raced in the 24 hour Le Mans endurance, the Bol Dor, Magny Cours and at Spa in Belgium.
Finally in 2005, I raced in the Isle of Man at the Manx GP on a Honda CBR600 and a 1972 classic Honda 350k4.
Having continued to work at our dealership throughout my racing career, I now dedicate all of my time to running it.
