Bikes Sold By Year and Model

Anyone know how or if you can find out how many of a specific model of a motorcycle was sold or imported in to the US for a year?

I'm curious to know how many B-Kings were brought in and sold in the US. But I'd also like to understand this in comparison to other models overall - and some specific models - like the Buell 1125CR.

Thanks in advance if anyone has a clue on how to find this data.

Ask your friendly local Suzuki dealer.

hmmm I don't know if they are all that friendly. :) But I was hoping to do some analysis to find out all sorts of neat information. A nice central spreadsheet or flat file or something.

You said you wanted to know how many B Kings were imported into the USA. Your local Suzuki dealer, friendly or not, would be the most logical place to ask first. Same thing with other bikes like the Buell; ask your local Buell dealer for the domestic market production numbers.

ohhh, I know you are right. It just sounds too much like work for me. I guess if it is important enough to me I'll actually do it - at least for a couple of bikes.

so the statistical analysis part with miles of numbers and formulae sounds like good old clean fun, but asking the dealership for a few of those numbers sounds like work?

y'know, if you're asking the dealership for info anyway, might as well ride down there and sit yer butt on a bunch of bikes that aren't yours. it's the least you can do to compensate yourself for the "work" of asking them about import numbers.

Its that whole human interaction part. I get along with computers just fine. Its why I prefer riding my bike - the gas jerks don't bother me in NJ when I have to fill it up.

The statistics - that's easy. I figure this information has to be out there somewhere, but sometimes the people who have it want to charge for it.

But sitting on bikes I don't own... Drooling a little bit and asking for some information. That might not be too bad.
