Isn't that the Honda Deauville? I like it; small, comfortable, practical, versatile. Seems like the UK press think it's pretty bland though.RhadamYgg wrote:I was browsing Honda motorcycles and the first thing I see is this NT700V.
Sheesh, I need to subscribe to a magazine or something. I had no idea.

I think it is. I'm thinking bland isn't such a bad thing, actually. Predictable handling, a throttle that doesn't want to kill you and people don't want to steal it.Grey Thumper wrote:Isn't that the Honda Deauville? While I applaud Honda USA giving us more choices, I'm not sure what all the buzz is about the NT700V. Lightweight sport tourer? Not really... compare some shaft horsepower and dry weight specs:RhadamYgg wrote:I think it is. I'm thinking bland isn't such a bad thing, actually. Being original is one of the concerns, yes, but there are also lots of different kinds of motorcyclists who either have different needs or enjoy different kinds of riding, and don't want to be limited to just two categories; cruisers or sportbikes.RhadamYgg wrote:I think a lot of bikers like being original as well - so having more models would be better, but it might drive per bike manufacturing costs up - and end prices up as well.
The same way a ST1300 can be a "sport tourer" and weigh 719 lbs dry. 719 lbs?? What kind of a "sport"-anything weighs 719 lbs??Grey Thumper wrote:Whoah, I never really paid attention to the specs. How can the NT700 be heavier than a freakin' BMW R1200RT? Is its fairing made of lead or something?
