For Kawasaki only
On the oem key for my bike (Vulcan 500 LTD 2007) there is a number such as B213322.
Is the number on the oem key, the one I would need if the oem key were damaged or not available for a dup to be ordered/made from a dealer?

Sorry, that was overly simple. The number you have should get you the correct key blank. The dealer or a locksmith will need to use a device which I don't know the name of to determine the tumbler sequence of your ignition switch and can then cut the blank to fit.
