So my neighbor found an old motorcycle in this old barn to a farm he purchased about a year or so ago and he found this motorcycle. He didn't know anything about motorcycle's so he asked a close friend if he wanted it. He told my neighbor that it was a collectors item or something and that it would be worth some money if he fixed it up. Well he doesn't want to so he sold it to me for $75 and I must say I'm beginning to wonder what I got myself into. I would like to fix it up but I'm new to motorcycle's myself but I still thought it would be a cheap investment to learn what I need to for my own bike ('06 Honda Shadow 1100). So I just got it home this afternoon and started tinkering w/ it to find some parts missing (battery, battery cover, turn signals, cable, etc.). The motor is also froze over, which a buddy of mine says to try a hillbilly fix of transmission fluid in the cylinders I figured it wouldn't hurt since it is a far trip for working anyways.

I'm not sure 100% if it is a triple or not or if there are different ones or what. I could post some pictures if it would help anyone identify it for me.

Also If anyone can help me find a website that has OEM parts would be much appreciated.

Well Wish me luck on my project bike, I'm sure It'll be about a year to fix up since I don't have much money to start w/.

It should be pretty easy to tell if it's a triple. Count the pipes coming out of the front of the engine.

The Kaw triples were the speed kings of the early 70s. The most common models found in the U.S. were the H1 (500cc) and the H2 (750 cc). Engine-wise these bikes are as different from your Shadow as could be. They are two-stroke motors, not seen on a production street bike in 30 yrs. (thanks to environmental laws).

You've got a huge task ahead of you. The best place to start would be identifying the bike and getting some "how to" info. You should check out the Kawasaki Triple site :

Best of luck. In good running condition, a Kaw triple is both fun and scary at the same time
